I thought the last line the most important in the poem. It brought me through the winding images of your journeys to your self (maybe Self) and felt an invitation to be beside you near the still waters. Praise for this very accessible poem, Jennifer.
Thanks for that, Lola. The poem really only comes alive when it lands in the reader. I’m glad you find this accessible, since it’s describing some things that are very esoteric.
Yes - I have yet to read anything of yours not esoteric! It's my point: "esoteric means intended for or likely to be understood by only a small number of people with a specialized knowledge or interest."
This poem is the opposite. Major learnings are placed in the reader's mind/heart as a gentle offering to see/feel with you. There is a sense of encouraging the reader to trust their own winding processes until reaching the still waters. It's a complex but Generous poem.

As always, Jen, the water of your poetry slakes a thirst I did not know, or perhaps had forgotten, I had. Lovely work.
Ah, Vernon, who has the sound of falling water inside his soul! Thank you, my friend.
Surely ... surely.
'Find me by the still waters' ... perfect finish.
Sumptuous, as always.
Thank you. I was questioning the last line, wondering if I should end with the line from Psalm 23. As always, I appreciate you so much!
Great work Jennifer.
Thank you, Rocco. Any opinion about the last line? I’m thinking of dropping it and ending with the line from Psalm 23.
“Go against yourself” I am told David Whyte and John O Donoghue would extol each other.
Let it be enough perhaps, as it is. As it left your pen.
Thank you for your thoughts. I revise and reshape a lot, so hownitvlwft the pen can change a lot!
