“We’re almost there!” My friend shouted over the waves. “Once we get around the corner the current will push us in!”
“Yes!” I yelled back, putting my head back under and stroking for shore. After two miles of swimming, I was so ready for dry land, eager to coast when I rounded the corner and was caught up in that friendly current. Anticipating how easy it was going to be, I kicked harder—almost there, just around the corner, here we go…
